Ondo Economic Planning and Coordinating Office holds orientation for newly appointed and converted Officers

The Ondo State Economic Planning and Coordinating Office has organized a one-day orientation programme for newly appointed and converted Planning Officers and Programme Analysts at the Ministry's Conference Hall, Akure, as part of its commitment to strengthening capacity and promoting effective service delivery in the Ondo State Public Service.

Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Rev. Samuel Olorunnisomo Ogunlade, congratulated the officers on their appointments and conversions, describing the orientation as a strategic initiative designed to prepare them for the responsibilities of their respective positions.

He charged the participants to uphold the core values of the Ondo State Public Service by demonstrating integrity, discipline, diligence, accountability, professionalism and commitment in the discharge of their duties. According to him, their dedication and performance will play a significant role in advancing the developmental goals of the Ondo State Government.

Mr. Ogunlade noted that the orientation programme was designed to acquaint the officers with the structure, mandate, operational procedures and strategic priorities of the Economic Planning and Coordinating Office, while fostering teamwork, continuous learning and a culture of excellence.

As part of the programme, participants received comprehensive technical presentations delivered by the Permanent Secretary; the Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Ayodele Ageh; the Director of Development Planning, Mr. Monday Oripinye Adebusoye; the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Lateef Adekunle; the Director Programme & System Support (P&SS), Dr. (Mrs.) Ruth Ayeni; and the Deputy Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Dennis Duebo, Esq.

The presentations covered the mandate of the Office, public service ethics, the roles and responsibilities of Planning Officers and Programme Analysts, workplace conduct and strategies for effective and efficient service delivery.

The orientation also featured an interactive session, providing participants with the opportunity to engage the management team through questions, discussions and the exchange of ideas on issues relating to their responsibilities, career development and expectations within the public service.

Speaking at the close of the programme, the management reaffirmed its commitment to continuous capacity building, emphasizing that investment in human resources remains fundamental to strengthening institutional performance and enhancing planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation across government programmes and projects.

The orientation programme reflects the unwavering commitment of the Ondo State Economic Planning and Coordinating Office to developing a competent, motivated and results-driven workforce capable of supporting the successful implementation of the Ondo State Government's development agenda through effective planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
